Plan and Conduct an investigation to determine if plants need sunlight and water to grow.

Develop a simple model that mimics the function of an animal in dispersing seeds or pollinating plants.

Make observations of plants and animals to compare diversity of life in different habitats.

Ask questions, make observations, gather information about a situation people want to change to define a simple problem that can be solved through the development of a new or improved object or tool.

Homework

In order to reinforce the material introduced during the school day, your child will be given homework assignments. These assignments will be given every Monday thru Thursday. Your child is responsible for writing his/her homework in their assignment pad each morning. Please have your child complete the homework neatly and bring in the completed assignment the next day.

Check your child’s homework book each day and initial daily assignments. Unfinished work will be sent home as homework. If a child misses homework assignments a notice will go home.

Below are blurbs about the programs and a list of what is expected to be completed in each subject area.

  • Read every night for 10 minutes. Please keep reading logs in folders so they can be checked on Fridays.
  • Math - Students will be given a math assignment each night that relates to the lesson that was introduced that day. Study guides will be sent home before tests.

Your child will also be given additional homework throughout the week and over the course of the year. Projects will be sent home with a detailed letter explaining the criteria for each project.
