Jennifer Plaia

Welcome to

Ms. Plaia's Class

Hi! My name is Ms. Plaia and I am going to be your teacher for this year. My philosophy for learning is that each child is unique and each child learns in a different way. I develop multi-sensory lesson plans to meet the needs of auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learners.
I am looking forward to a fun-filled and educational year!

*Upcoming Dates*

November 27th 1:00 Day
November 28th -November 29th No School
December 11th-12th- Parent/Teacher Conference
December 23rd- Winter Break Begins

** Please check your child's assignment book and folder daily for important assignments and notices.

Each week your child will have a reading log and an activity in his/her take home folder. Your child will be required to read for a minimum of 15 minutes a night. The folder will be turned in every Friday with a completed reading log. Your child will begin to gain confidence as a reader and develop reading fluency by reading a variety of different ways, but always be sure to alternate between them. Young readers become better readers by listening to good readers read and by reading themselves.

Need more books at home?
**Epic! was born out of a single question: How do we make books more accessible to kids?As parents, it always seemed strange to us that our kids could so easily play games and watch videos on their iPhones and iPads, but the same couldn’t be said for books. So in 2013, we decided to build the first “epic” reading experience, designed just for kids. Today, Epic! has grown into an award-winning subscription service, which gives millions of families and classrooms instant, unlimited access to thousands of books, videos and quizzes from leading publishers to help kids everywhere read, learn and grow.
