We are working through our 5th and 6th unit in our new Math curriculum. We are working on addition and subtraction, place value, adding ones and tens, and comparing numbers. We are also learning about shapes, their attributes, and equal parts. Please remember to use the log in cards that were sent home to access the iready website for practice.

Reading
We are using our Wilson program to practice tapping out short vowel words. We are also using our Readers workshop to discuss all about nonfiction books and how to develop great reading habits. You will see students coming home with level book baggies to practice their reading nightly. We also started a new unit of study, poetry.

Every Monday, the students will receive new trick words to add to their word  notebook.  These need to be reviewed on a daily basis with the suggested activities.  Please review the special sound for the week as well. Continue all the amazing reading with the weekly logs!
