Social Studies

We are learning about Winter, Hanukkah, Christmas, and holidays around the world.

Language:
Students are using the writers workshop to learn how to write nonfiction (all about) stories. We are also learning all about the different types of sentences.

Reading
We are using our Wilson program to practice tapping out short vowel words. We are also using our Readers workshop to discuss all about fiction books and how to develop great reading habits. You will see students coming home with level book baggies to practice their reading nightly. We also started a new unit of study, nonfiction books.

Every Monday, the students will receive new trick words to add to their word  notebook.  These need to be reviewed on a daily basis with the suggested activities.  Please review the special sound for the week as well. Continue all the amazing reading with the weekly logs!
